Sir Sean Connery has hit back at his ex-wife the Australian Diane Cilento for saying he threatened to cut his son Jason out of his will. In the past Diane Cilento has accused Sean Connery of being violent in their marriage which ended nearly four decades ago which he has denied.
She is an enthusiastic Sun Jupiter in Libra balanced with a trine to sensible Saturn in Aquarius. But her problems in letting go come more from an afflicted Pluto squaring onto a Mercury opposition to Uranus (perhaps also Moon) in Aries. Her Pluto also trines a Venus Mars conjunction in Scorpio - so she has a triple whammy of that intense, vengeful Scorpio/Pluto energy which needs to be in control and is highly possessive so separations can never be completely processed.
In addition in her composite relationship chart with Sean Connery there is a Mars Neptune conjunction which is subtly undermining with an ego imbalance - when one side does well the other feels diminished. His career has hit the heights where hers has diminished from her early promise. It may be his forthcoming autobiography due in a month''s time which has sparked this recent comment since again she fears him getting positive attention.
If anything Jason Connery''s relationship is better with his father - there''s a bond of real affection (Sun Venus Jupiter) though a Pluto square will make for some power play and an argumentative streak as well. Jason Connery''s birth chart with a Moon Mars conjunction opposition Saturn squaring Neptune suggests a mother who is complex, not always straightforward and not supportive. Jason''s Capricorn Sun is trine his father''s Virgo Moon which is a good connection; while Jason''s Mars (Moon) in Leo is square his mother''s Venus Mars in Scorpio so he''ll be at odds with her heavier, never-say-die-determination to get her own back. Oddly Jason''s composite with his mother, while containing affection and good feelings, also has a Mars Neptune conjunction again suggesting she may feel threatened by his success.
Diane Cilento''s chart indicates this is not a good time for her with transitting Neptune square Venus this year and Mars next so she''s feeling undermined emotionally and in other areas of her life.
Input 2007: The formidable presence and talent of Sean Connery is allegedly about to be withdrawn from our cinema screens. But he’s certainly not going to disappear out of sight. With Saturn starting to rise above his Cancer descendant, he’ll continue his lifelong run of successes, hitting his next peak from 2013 and not scheduled for real retirement until at least 2019. He’ll go on and on ……….
As might be expected, he has an extraordinary chart dominated by the cardinal grand cross which made so many tough, enduring, ambitious personalities from that era. Saturn in Capricorn on his ascendant describes his poverty stricken childhood, where work came before pleasure. This placing tends to make for a warmer, easier last third of life than for the difficult early years. His image – from his rising sign - tends to be cool, workaholic, slightly standoffish, though his reserve on first meeting people hides a surprising shyness and self doubt. In opposition lies Jupiter and Pluto in Cancer. This gives him a real fear of failure which drives him on, as well as a really dogged persistence. He can come across as charming and attract good partners in life (Jupiter in 7th) but close relationships at work and at home will never be uncomplicated with intense Pluto giving rise to power struggles. This opposition squares onto a Venus Uranus opposition which makes him emotionally changeable, constantly looking for adventure. He takes refuge in travelling and reading, perhaps also writing. He has a grasshopper mind with Uranus in the 3rd, brilliant insights and a good deal absent mindedness. He can be very directly outspoken, a trait emphasised by a heated Mars in communicative Gemini square his Moon and Mercury.
His Moon in the 9th also suggests that living abroad will be part of his life’s experience. In Virgo it makes him a great worrier. With another three Virgo planets (Mercury in the 9th, Sun and Neptune in the 8th), he is a perfectionist, can be critical, likes to be of help and is always willing to work hard to gain a solid end result. His deeply buried Sun and Neptune give a slightly Scorpionic feel with sexual charisma, a yearning for transcendent bliss, a streak of real stubborness, and a tendency to attract less than reliable financial partners. His workaholic tendencies are also emphasised by Mars in the 6th giving him an eye for detail, a determination to do a good job for its own sake, and the tendency to end up in arguments with work colleagues. The cardinal Grand Cross will make him over commit himself, trying to go in four directions at once. He is overflowing with initiative and good ideas, but will have had problems in his early adult life keeping a steady sense of focus. It makes him impatient, assertive, competitive, impulsive and hugely energetic.
His astrocartography not surprisingly puts his Jupiter and Pluto midheaven lines through Los Angeles, suggesting great success and large sums of money coming that area. His other success lines - Sun and Neptune (= film) midheaven lines run through the Eastern seaboard of the USA, New York and elsewhere, exactly through the Bahamas where he has made his home.
PRESENT INFLUENCES:With Saturn rising above his descendant from the autumn of 2003 he is moving into a more successful and responsible time of his life. Though with Saturn also bouncing off all four corners of his Cardinal Grand Cross, he will have been facing certain realities and deciding what to cut out of his life. Close working or personal relationships will have been under some strain with a sense of coolness. Jupiter has also been moving through his 8th over the last year which brings profound deep seated changes to his emotional and financial priorities. Jupiter is now in his 9th until autumn 2006 which is good for writing and travelling. Then it reaches his midheaven for a year bringing success and more public recognition. Through 2005 Pluto squares his Moon, which may bring changes at home, a sense of clearing out the past, some emotional intensity. Saturn going through his 8th from late 2005 to 2009 can be tricky financially and he may feel less supported by the generosity of the universe. 2007 and 2008 could be frustrating years as Pluto squares his 6th house Mars, indicating tensions which could lead to health worries. Mercury and his Sun are by progression within a few degrees of his midheaven so the next phase of his life could be a time of communication, spreading his ideas and being appreciated for his personality and thoughts as well as his screen charisma.
