In the News / Celebrity Astrology Michael Moore 23 April 1954, Flint, Michigan, USA. No birth time
A solidly stubborn Taurus, the author and documentary maker on a mission, sticks to his guns and refuses to budge. With his Sun in opposition to Saturn in obsessive Scorpio, he fears failure and will relentlessly pursue his goals to ensure he succeeds. Saturn is sextile Mars in Capricorn, another hard working and ambitious indicator, which in turn trines the Sun exactly so he will grit his teeth and put in the donkey work required to fulfil his aims. His rebellious, defiant spirit comes from Uranus in Cancer on one arm of a cardinal grand square to the Moon’s North Node, Neptune and Mercury. So his revolutionary tendencies tend to come out through communication (Mercury) and filmically (Neptune). He can be confused, sometimes irrational (Mercury/Uranus/Neptune), but he also expresses his vision without being deflected by adverse publicity. His Moon is either Sagittarius or Capricorn but without a birth time it isn’t possible to say. I would imagine Sagittarius looks a stronger possibility since it would bring it into closer opposition to Jupiter, reflecting his liking for food and comfortable roly-poly shape. Though Venus in Taurus will also lean him towards indulgent eating. Jupiter in Gemini gives him an endless curiosity about society, human beings and how they relate, though it tends also to make him a dilettante, knowing a little about a lot. Jupiter trine Neptune brings a sympathy and compassion for the underdog. Jupiter is also involved in two mini grand trines (Mercury trine Pluto sextile Jupiter; Jupiter trine Neptune sextile Pluto) so he is particularly gifted as a communicator. He speaks powerfully (Mercury trine Pluto), sometimes a touch over intensely. He’s certainly not backwards about expressing his views (Mercury in Aries). His Uranus in Cancer clashes with the USA’s Cancer planets, perhaps sparking the country into awareness about changes needing made, but also out of step with the mainstream concensus. PRESENT INFLUENCES: He looks in ebullient, pushy, slightly over confident mood over the January 2005 inauguration as Pluto opposes his Jupiter. Though he will be fuming and fretting with the Mars Pluto conjunction of late January falling in his Taurus Sun’s 8th house; at times feeling under strain with Uranus also conjunct his Mars/Saturn midpoint also in January. This latter influence tends to make people provocatively outspoken, giving as well as taking in the heat of the moment. Pluto also trines Jupiter/Neptune in January bringing some disappointment. But although his campaign of unseating George Bush as President clearly didn’t pay off, it may well give him an extended platform as agent provocateur in chief. 2005 will be a mixed year for him with social highs, patches of great confidence and other times of equally great irritation. His secondary progressed Sun is approaching the conjunction with his Jupiter, coming exact in late 2006 and that will bring success, confidence, expansiveness in the run up, and beyond. Without a birth time it’s not possible to accurately track his career path but he looks to be staying on his toes and thriving.
