Political Astrology Blair Government 04 11:00, London, ENG
ASTRO HEADLINES: Input March 2004 The 2001 Blair government chart, the template for his second term, has been under unrelenting pressure from a Pluto opposition to the Sun which kicked in from February 2002 in the run up to the Iraq War and returned in mid 2003 - which coincided with the Hutton Inquiry into the death of Iraq Weapons expert Dr David Kelly, laying bare Government secrets. The message from these influences is change or else. Transformation in one form or another will be forced on the government. There is a chance to alter old patterns and start afresh, but that looks all nigh impossible given the basic characteristic of this chart. [See below.] In 2004 Pluto is in opposition to Jupiter from late February onwards which is pushy, over confident and will bring arrogant miscalculations. It will produce an upsurge in confidence, taking the law into their own hands and ploughing ahead regardless. But it is likely to bounce back. Pluto is also square Sun/Mars in Jan/Feb, late April to early June, mid November to mid December 2004. This will bring frustration, anger, violence, major stress and in individuals can accompany cardiac problems. There will be major jolts and tensions appearing as Uranus squares Saturn late April to late July 2004, and again in February 2005. This will be a testing time with major disruptions, upsetting the Government’s handling of key situations. Saturn will oppose the Moon in mid to late June 2004 making the Government feel even more unsupported by public opinion. Into 2005 Pluto is conjunct Mars from February onwards which will be blocked, stuck, enraged, a ruthless fight for control. Blair Second Term Government Chart The 2001 chart has a 10th house Sun, Jupiter, Mercury conjunction in Gemini ( & Saturn) in opposition to a fourth house Mars Pluto conjunction. This is a government full of confident promises, highly optimistic chat but lacking the practicality to deliver. There is a great deal of anger buried here (Mars Pluto), frustration amounting to despair about the amount of control exerted at an intimate level. The anger will be felt both by the populace at large and by those close to the kitchen cabinet. It is a see saw chart, highly unstable with little in the way of steady focus or capability of finding ways out of dilemmas. With Saturn in the 10th, the quick fixes of an airily Jupiterian Sun will come unstuck. Cutting corners will always backfire. Transgressions to the moral code will out, no matter how much fudging goes on. Blair & the UK Blair’s composite chart with the UK again shows a strong Mars Pluto conjunction in Taurus squaring onto a Mercury Uranus opposition and trine Saturn in Virgo. He is a leader who arouses very heated responses. This is a hugely over controlled interface with power being wielded at an unprecedented level in a ruthless manner. There is a Sun Venus conjunction in Pisces trine Jupiter in Cancer an trine Neptune in Scorpio, indicating the early friendliness of the population to his idealistic efforts. But it sits uneasily beside the brutal/bullying fixed t square. Since power is always a two sided coin, the dominatrix in the relationship will at some point become the submisser. Into 2004 Pluto starts to square Saturn from late February staying till late 2005, which will put Blair as PM under extreme pressure. Uranus trines Neptune from April 2004 onwards for a year which will make for a highly strung, distrustful relationship. Into 2005 Pluto trines Uranus altering the relationship between Blair and the UK population totally. Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. The PM’s famously gritty friendship with his Chancellor is well described in their composite. A friendly Sun Venus conjunction in early Aries with a confident Mars Jupiter conjunction at the end of Aries all oppose a distrustful paranoid Saturn Neptune conjunction with that axis squaring onto Uranus. This is a highly volatile connection which veers wildly from amiable to complete chill very rapidly with a good deal of secrecy, evasiveness and suspicion between them at an underlying level. There is also a Pluto trine to the Mars Jupiter conjunction with all the power play, point scoring and struggle for domination which that suggests. The latest bout of chilly relations between them started in 2003 as Saturn first squared Venus (July), then the composite Sun (August). Pluto started to sextile the composite Jupiter from late February 2004 which always accompanies a jockeying for position and control and will continue off and on for 18 months. Saturn returns to the square to the Sun in late April 2004, then conjuncts Uranus in May – both of these will bring a sense of separation and around the latter, tensions will erupt into the open with resentments surfacing and obvious upheavals. Gordon Brown, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Chart. A hidden Pisces with four planets – Sun, Jupiter, Mars, Venus and Moon’s North Node in the 12th – suggest a personality not comfortable working in a constant spotlight. He operates much better behind the scenes. But a forcefully upfront Aries ascendant and a demanding Moon Pluto conjunction in Leo in the fifth will make him paradoxically attention seeking, sulking furiously if he does not get centre stage when he wants it. Saturn in the 6th in Libra is exceptionally hard working though squaring onto Uranus it makes him autocratic, not doing unto others as he would be done by. A fourth house Uranus brings an emotional restlessness and squaring onto his 7th house Neptune, he finds close commitment in one-to-one relationships a challenge. This is a chart which lacks earth signs, so suggests difficulties in handling the practical realms of body, material possessions, disciplined organization. Brown: Current Influences With Saturn about to cross his I.C. from July 2003 onwards he moves into a higher profile seven years with more chance of success ahead, perhaps also a home move with some upheaval. Though 2004 will be a testing year for him. Neptune opposes his fifth house Moon from September to November 2004. His future plans then will be in a state of transition with less tangible support from friends and workmates than he would like. 2004 also sees Pluto squaring his Mars from late February causing intense frustration, making him feel heavily restricted but also possibly bringing out his ruthless streak. Saturn also squares his Neptune giving rise to anxieties about close relationships. But his Solar Return from February 2005 shows a glittering year of success ahead for him, which may be the time of the next election. Alistair Campbell: Tony Blair Their composite not surprisingly has an affectionate, friendly Sun Venus conjunction. It also has an adventurous gung ho Jupiter Uranus conjunction, though squaring onto Neptune it is highly strung and can produce bad judgement calls. More surprisingly it has a Saturn opposition Sun & Venus square Pluto which admittedly gives endurance for tough patches but also suggests that each feels chained to the other in an uncomfortable way. Without Campbell's birth time, it's difficult to be sure precisely why he chose to announce his deparature from No 10 in late August. But with a composite Moon in mid Pisces, one could assume a Pluto square was what brought pressures to a head. The other possibility is, of course, that he may not leave totally, remaining in the background as Peter Mandelson has done as an adviser. Whichever way it plays, they face an undermining 2004 with Neptune squaring the composite Venus from April, bringing disappointments and failure out into the open. Their friendship will be in real trouble by 2005 as Neptune squares Saturn, causing great concern between them, with a good deal of suspicion and distrust. By that time Pluto will also be opposing Mars in the composite so outright warfare may be the end of a beautiful liaison. [Campbell’s Chart see below] Alistair Campbell: Jack Straw What the Select Committee hearings on Iraq intelligence has dragged out into the open which was not obvious before is that Campbell and Jack Straw, the Foreign Secretary, thoroughly dislike each other. With (yet another!) Mars Pluto conjunction in their composite chart, this is a battle of wills, a fight for domination, with much bitter and destructive resentment running under the surface. It was exacerbated during the Iraq Crisis. Alistair Campbell: Chancellor Gordon Brown The Campbell/Gordon Brown composite also throws up a fixed Mars (opposition Saturn) Pluto square. The Downing Street cauldron simmers with a toxic brew of dislike amounting to outright hatred. This chart was under pushy one-upmanship influences through June and this scenario returns late October to late November 2003. Jostling for power, grand standing and trying to point score against each other is the name of the game here. This composite is showing increasing distance through 2004 and being totally undermined in 2005. Alistair Campbell Chart: A social butterfly Sun Venus in Gemini conjunction is damped down in its light hearted gaiety by a Saturn opposition from Sagittarius. But this is still a jack-of-all-trades with widely scattered interests, a capacity for communication and self righteous. He has a strong sense of intellectual pride, fears disapproval and feels exceptionally resentful if he has been spoken ill of (Saturn in Sag. afflicted). This opposition squares onto Jupiter in Virgo which exacerbates the Gemini tendency to spread himself too thin and take on board more than he can efficiently manage. A stubbornly fixed Mercury in Taurus makes him opinionated; opposing Neptune makes him vague or evasive, squaring onto Uranus gives a highly strung insistence on not always rational decisions or judgements from which he will refuse to budge. His Moon is probably in Aries and squares onto Mars in Cancer, hence the angry, emotional outbursts. Without a birth time it’s difficult to be certain about planetary houses but this is not as strongly controlling or power hungry a chart as Blair’s.
