Britney Spears From: Marjorie. (01 Feb 2008 18:45): Britney Spears' enforced incarceration in hospital in a state seemingly of total incapacity won't be the end of the troubled young music star's problems. Her chart has three main configurations, all of them under pressure from transits or Solar Arc Directions. Her Venus in Capricorn opposition Moon's North Node in Cancer squares onto Saturn and Pluto in Libra and Jupiter in early Scorpio. In itself it's a bleak enough description of a deprived emotional life creating enormous strains. By transit Neptune is just off the sextile to Saturn which made 2007 such a disorienting year for her and will this year sextile the Saturn/Pluto midpoint. The latter is minor enough but will contribute to a sense of shattered nerves and being let down by others. The one bright spark from this configuration is Pluto sextile Jupiter from March for a few weeks which will raise her confidence. On Solar Arc Directions Mars in conjunct Saturn and SA Neptune just off the square to Saturn which is a sense of a total roadblock and meltdown.
The second configuration is a mini grand trine, or rather two - of Moon trine Saturn sextile Sun; Moon trine Ascendant sextile Mercury. Transitting Saturn is squaring the focal point through this year which is discouraging. And the upcoming Aquarian Eclipse on February 7th falls close to her Moon suggesting major upsets with her family, with her body and her children. This Eclipse repeats till January 09. The third configuration is a mutable Neptune in the 3rd opposition Midheaven square Mars in 12th which is an overly excitable, very impatient and very scattered T square, applying great pressure on her 12th house of the unconscious. I would wonder about her birth time being perhaps five to ten minutes earlier, or perhaps in a different location, pulling the MC/IC axis back to 0 degrees Cancer/Capricorn. But even on this birth time Pluto is now hovering in orb of an opposition to the midheaven which can accompany a fall from grace or damage to reputation, and is about to enter her 4th house which can bring a trapped feeling or more productively a chance to clear out old emotional baggage from childhood.Uranus by transit in 2009 will oppose Mars and square Neptune which will not be easy - bringing both insecurity and confusion. The 2007 Eclipses in Pisces and Virgo were in hard aspect to this T square, opposing and conjunct Mars.
On her Harmonics the 7th Harmonic is the strongest with a 4th house fixed Sun Saturn opposition Mars square Neptune in the 8th. It clearly shows her ambitious drive (Mars in Leo in 10th), her unhappiness in her home life (Sun Saturn in Aquarius in 4th), and tendency to disappear into a fantasyland, spacing out in an escapist way (Nep 8th) in an attempt to handle her emotional distress. The 7th Harmonic tends to be strong amongst creative people who are prone to manic behaviour and attempt to force their own unreality onto the world around them. David Hamblin remarks 'it can lead to savage destructiveness or to immense creative achievement.' Her artistic abilities are hardly at a level of Mozart, Berlioz or Dali, but she clearly carries a strong spark of inspiration which has tragically turned negative and is in danger of wrecking her life.
Britney Spears From: Marjorie. (23 Feb 2007 11:46): Britney Spears is clearly going through a difficult time. An impulsive Sagittarian with a rebellious streak from Uranus close to her Sun, she is also spaced out by her Neptune in Sagittarius, which can be musical but also addiction prone. Her chart is fairly disjointed, apart from a worrying and depressive T square of Venus opposition the Moon's North Node square Saturn and Pluto in Libra. Her emotional life was always going to be a major challenge for her, since she feels unloved and unloveable, and can be both passionate and highly defensive. Saturn Pluto is a bleak combination at the best of times and blocking her Venus, it will lead to fraught and unfulfilling romantic relationships until she unlocks her deeper feelings and more caring side which will be a painful process. And a detached Aquarian Moon will make this doubly difficult for her. This year is sobering and stuck for her with Saturn sextile Saturn and Pluto until after mid year. Her midpoint transits show a mix of headstrong and highly strung, muddled influences. Next year will be frustrating and 2009 very unsettled and insecure. What will keep her bouyant through some tricky times ahead is Pluto picking up her Jupiter in Scorpio which will bring her hope, renewed confidence and secret help along the way.
Brtiney's chart: With four planets (the Sun, Mercury, Neptune & Uranus) in energetic, restless Sagittarius, a charming Libra ascendant and a friendly Aquarian Moon she was always destined to be a bright spark on the horizon. Sagittarius is a physically active, exuberant sign, with a philosophical streak. Although vague at times, she takes pride in having a bright mind and fast repartee. Constantly on the move she dislikes routines, skims the surface happily and adores dropping outrageous comments as she flits past.
She does have a darker, deeper side, and an almost magical ability to get her own way. Her Jupiter in Scorpio attracts her to the occult and close to the Saturn Pluto conjunction, gives her an innate understanding of how to exert great influence in an almost subliminal way.
Her fifth House Aquarian Moon attracts her to children as well as the world of entertainment, and this placing usually suggests fertility. But like many show business personalities or film stars who project great sex appeal, she has a good many self doubts about her attractiveness in private. Venus in traditional Capricorn in the fourth house makes her yearn for a beautiful and happy home. But the rather bleak Saturn Pluto conjunction in Libra is in hard aspect to Venus. She learned early to control her feelings and suppress her needs, feeling that she was never quite loveable enough.
Her Aquarian Moon also makes her fear intimacy, so she prefers the more detached company of groups of friends, variety, choice and little commitment. She has strong needs to be in control, and finds deeper co-operation tricky. The sugary sweet, indulgent Moon Jupiter square gives her the capacity to ignore her deeper feelings though she will spend copiously on her self as compensation for what she feels she lacks. In later years she may even over eat. Jupiter in sexy Scorpio is in the 2nd so she has the ability to attract money and spend it just as fast. She also attracts confidence from friends, who will divulge secrets which they would not share elsewhere. But her own privacy she guards fiercely.
Dynamic Mars in conscientious Virgo is hidden away in the 12th house so she will work hard behind the scenes to ensure that she does her best. It will give her problems in expressing her anger, especially since it squares onto evasive Neptune. This aspect is often found in the charts of individuals who attract publicity, but can contribute to an indecisive streak. Oddly enough for someone who has achieved so much so young, with the Moon’s Node in the 10th, she is not clear what her true ambitions are and what direction she really wants her life to take. Ultimately she needs to develop into more of a mothering personality in her working life, using her femininity to offer help and support.
