Medvedev Tsar Nicholas: Saakashvili Stalin From: Marjorie. (31 Aug 2008 11:07): Someone emailed to say that they had heard Georgian President Saakashvili and Joseph Stalin had similar charts (same birthday) and Russian President Medvedev''s chart was similar to Tsar Nicholas 11''s. In fact Saakashvili and Stalin don''t share a birthday since the data came from different calendars (OS and NS). Saakashvili is a Sagittarian - 21 Dec; and Stalin is a Capricorn - 2nd Jan on new style calendar. Stalin had a really heavyweight chart with an earth grand trine of Capricorn Sun trine Mars Neptune in Taurus (and Pluto in Taurus) trine Moon Uranus in Virgo. Mars in Taurus can be cruel as can a negative Capricorn Sun; Uranus Neptune is fanatical, slightly off-the-wall - but all tied into an earth grand trine suggesting a person who was an organiser and builder and would push to consolidate his ideas into solid results. He did have a marginally more adventurous Jupiter opposition Uranus square Mercury - so could be fickle, seeming kind one moment and the opposite the next. Saakashvili is much more of a hot head, scattered, rather frenzied. His Mars is in wayward Aquarius thus he doesn''t listen to advice and with Mars possibly opposing his Moon and squaring Neptune he has a hugely unrealistic streak. Both he and Stalin have Saturn in Aries suggesting tough early childhoods which instilled some resilience in them. Tsar Nicholas 11 (assassinated by the Bolsehviks in 1917) was a Taurus Sun opposition Saturn with Mars, Neptune, Moon and Jupiter in Aries, with Moon Jupiter Neptune square Uranus and Venus in Cancer. So he was duty bound (Saturn) but loved the pomp and ceremony (Mars Neptune) and adventure (Jupiter in Aries) of his position. Medvedev is a completely different animal altogether with a highly strung, rebellious Sun, Uranus, Pluto and Mercury in Virgo opposition Saturn with his Sun square Jupiter - so he veers from gloom to over confidence. Medvedev has a close Neptune Mars conjunction in Scorpio so likes publicity and the pzazz of a high profile lifestyle. All four of the above have strong Mars Neptune aspects which has connections to the entertainment business so clearly life in the spotlight suits/ed them.
Input January 2008: A very different animal to Vladimir Putin, Dmitri Medvedev his nominated successor is a rather scattered and contradictory Virgo with his Sun close to the rebellious, experimental Uranus Pluto conjunction and Mercury. In contrast to Putin's icy coolness, he'll be excitable, a worrier, slightly indecisive, restless, a seeker after instant enlightenment but not always committed over the longer term to fixed goals. His Sun, Uranus and Pluto are in opposition to Saturn which will give him some staying power and a tendency to depression or a sense that he never quite lives up to what is expected of him. His Sun is also square lucky Jupiter in Gemini which will lift him up when he gets down. Jupiter here gives a love of philosophy, and the law which makes sense since that was his profession until he moved into politics. He is intellectually curious with a wide range of interests, but tends to be a dabbler rather than a specialist. He'll write and lecture well so his communications skills won't be in doubt. And with a close Mars Neptune conjunction in seductive Scorpio he'll revel in publicity and the showbiz buzz of an international platform. Putin on the other hand is a detached, serious Libra with a strong sense of vision and an inclination towards iron control (Mars trine Pluto). Medvedev has glimmerings of the need for control with Mars sextile Pluto and trine Saturn, but he'll be a more diffuse character. Their relationship will be under huge pressures through the next three years. Indeed arguments may flare from February next year (2008) onwards. Two other personalities born within the same time span who also share that Uranus Pluto opposition Saturn square Jupiter of the mid 1960s are J. K. Rowling, the Harry Potter author ( 31 July 1965) and UK Foreign Secretary David Milliband ( 15 July 1965). So we're starting to see the face of the new brand of younger leaders, a shift away from the old guard of the 1940s - GWB, Bill Clinton; and the visionaries of the early 1950s - Tony Blair/Gordon Brown/Angela Merkel/Nicholas Sarkozy/Benazir Bhutto/Putin who shared the Saturn Neptune in Libra square Uranus in Cancer. In some ways their restless temperament, attuned to constant change, may be better suited to the roller coaster ride ahead. But whether they'll be a steady hand on the tiller is a different matter.
