Star of the hugely successful Bourne thrillers, Matt Damon, has an extraordinarily powerful chart. With a Libra Sun he might be expected to be a pussycat a la Roger Moore or even Michael Douglas. But his Sun is close to innovative, rebellious Uranus, both trine his maverick Aquarius Ascendant so he will always walk his own road, push against the boundaries and be outspoken against injustices. He has film-world Neptune on his midheaven (like Ingmar Bergman, the film maker) and creative, charming Venus close by and this collection around his career point is supremely well integrated into his chart.
What really dominates his chart is an earth grand trine of Mars Pluto in Virgo, Saturn in Taurus and Capricorn Moon. Earth grand trine people are great builders in life always aiming for a solid, tangible result from their efforts and make good business men. The trine gives talent, luck, ease though these are by no means easy or pleasant planets. He is fuelled by huge determination by the Mars Pluto which does have a destructive side but it can also help him stand up to dangerous situations. Saturn adds another layer of grim resolve. He’s not quite the mild mannered actor he appears to be.
What drives this productive grand trine into higher gear is the opposition from Saturn which creates an even rarer kite formation in his chart which is a success marker. Saturn opposes Neptune and Venus on his Midheaven giving him creative talents (Sat Nep) which spurs on his screenplay writing (as in Good Will Hunting) as well as his acting. Thus his artistic career gives him an outlet for a great deal of the dark energy in his chart which could have given him real problems if otherwise directed. It’s perhaps also why he has chosen such oddball characters to play – the bisexual murderer in The Talented Mr Ripley; a conjoined twin in Stuck on You; a heroin addict in Courage Under Fire and most recently the amnesiac assassin in the Bourne films.
If his birth time is accurate then Mars, Pluto, Mercury, Uranus and the Sun all fall in his 8th house which is quite a tough karma to carry and will make close relationships problematic. His Capricorn Moon is also hidden in the 12th so work is his passion.
His astrocartography shows L.A and west USA as successful though also roller coaster with his Sun, Mercury, Uranus and Pluto midheaven lines running through it. His Jupiter midheaven and Neptune midheaven also lucky career-wise fall to the east of the USA.
His career looks set to run for years ahead though with Saturn moving through his 8th (if birth time accurate) from mid 2008 for four years he will face a tricky time emotionally, psychologically and financially. His Progressed Sun is aiming for his 10th house in a few years time so he’ll weather the storms to emerge in an even stronger position.
